ISLAMABAD: Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar has described Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif’s tone against President Asif Ali Zardari as inappropriate and regrettable.
Reacting to the recently held press conference by Nawaz Sharif, he said this tone adopted by the person who served twice as prime minister of Pakistan does not suite him.
“The allegations that PML-N Chief has leveled against President Zardari are not based on reality and show ill intention,” Farhatullah Babar said.
He said if President Zardari had wanted the Sharif brothers to stay out of the election process, he would not have asked them to review their decision on boycotting the polls.
The presidential spokesman said neither the President nor Federal Government had anything to do with the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. PPP is not happy with the verdict but, unfortunately, it cannot do anything in this regard, he added.
“The reason for not being happy is that the verdict is being used to undermine efforts of reconciliation,” Farhatullah Babar said.
